• STEPS FOR INSTALLING OPNsense

1.) In Virtual Box , select type as BSD and version as openbsd 64bit , RAM 1gb

2.) Select Network → Adapter 1 and 2 both internal network. For Adapter 1 select Allow VMs promiscuous mode and for adapter 2 let the promiscuous mode be in deny and also uncheck the cable connected option in second adapter → click ok.

3.) Run the opnsense iso , it will ask for login and password.

LOGIN : installer

PASSWORD : opnsense

4.) Set the root password when it asks ( ROOT PASSWORD : Password1 )

5.) Now to open the GUI OPNsense , go to windows 10 , change the network settings to dynamic and open browser , type 192.168.1.1 and click enter.

6.) You will get the OPNsense GUI login screen. Enter the ID as “ root “ and password which you have set while installing ( Password1 ) and click login.

7.) After logging in go to system → wizard → click next → proceed everything with default settings → Change time zone with respect to yours → remaining all default settings → finally click reload and your opnsense configuration in windows 10 is ready.

8.) Now boot up windows 7 machine , change network setting to dynamic.

9.) Finally login bsd with root and use number 5 option to shutdown the opnsense.

10.) Atlast after checking all the above, change the windows 10 and 7 IP to static settings as mentioned initially.
